Finally, for the first time in my life, I had a chance to travel oversea. I participated in a tour organised
by the Singapore Boys' Club to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was a three days and two nights' trip from 11th
Dec. 1999 to 13th Dec. 1999.

It was not at all a pleasant trip during set off. The tour bus drove off from the boarding bay at Golden
Mile tower at 8.00 a.m. sharp. We eventually reached Kuala Lumpur at 5.00 p.m. on the same day. It was
supposed to be a four hours' trip but turned out to be nine hours.

The bus which we transited at the Malaysia custom was terrible. It broke down half way on the
Malaysia Highway and worst of all the air-conditoner of the enclosed bus broke down. When we reached
the Kuala Lumpur Century Hotel at 5.00 p.m., the public were staring at us. They must be thinking that
whether we are some kind of refugees, all sweating and dressing sloppily.

By the time we washed up ourselves, it was already time for dinner. We patronised a Japanese
restaurant nearby. Later in the night, we dropped by a local Gay pub and partied all the way till 3.00 a.m. in
the morning. We noticed that the pub started to pack only after the clock strikes twelve. Unlike in Singapore
where all partyings start before midnight.
|
|
Next morning, we had a sumptious buffet breakfast at the hotel. After which, we spent the whole day
at Malaysia's renown water theme park, Sunway Lagoon and shopping at the pyramid look-alike shopping
centre next door.

|
On the last day morning, it was a last minute rush for shopping and packing up as we had to board
the tour bus back to Singapore at 12.00 p.m. noon. The return trip was smooth but tiring as everyone of us
was exhausted, thus sleeping all the way to the custom checkpoint.
